wordpress for blackberry cannot add custom blogs after 1.4.2
Sep 4th
Has anyone noticed that you can no longer add your own custom blog, it just has the wordpress.com or wordpress.org?
Seems to have happened after the upgrade to 1.4.2. Is this a bug or do they just want to lock it down to those two sites?
I feel so frustrated!!!

iphone4 or BlackBerry
Aug 24th
With the launch of the iphone4 in Australia our team has been in a heated debate as to which phone our company should be using and promoting. The majority of us have used the blackberry storm but have been having several issues with it since we initially purchased them almost two years ago. There has been version upgrades which have dramatically fixed some of these major issues but at the same time one of my collegues has complained about missed calls. The problem may be related to memory I.e the more applications you have in the background the more memory it consumed. I’ve noticed that as soon as the memory reaches 4Mb the phone just slows down. You can reboot the phone or use quickpull to fix the issue but during this memory leak you might end missing important phone calls. I don’t know whether this will be the same case as the iphones but one of the main reasons why we went with the blackberry was because of the unlimited data download. There is a disclamer about the fair use policy but I ended up watching a full series of an anime and wasn’t charged at all.
So the iphone4 is very appealing because of the new apps like facetime and the speed. The blackberry is quite slow because of it 600 or so hertz processor.
Now I also use the blackberry as a storage device, just plug the usb cable to any pc and it will be mounted as a drive. Apparently you can’t do that with the iphone.. You need itunes.
In terms of apps, the iphone has too many and the blackberry is very limited. But we don’t play games so unlikely our decision will be based on this factor.
So which one should we go for?
Gmail emails being grouped on the Blackberry
Aug 16th
I just noticed that on my blackberry, gmail emails are being grouped. So what has changed? Does anyone know? I did notice that I have to accept some new T&C’s from Gmail but it would be good to know what features are available. Does it mean that the calendar is being synched as well?

Company Business Cards
Jun 8th
Business cards are one of the first marketing materials your business will develop and from our experience you need to get this right otherwise you’ll end up wasting lots of money and time.
Since our first initial design of our business card, we’ve gone through 4 different designs and I believe there will be more in the future.
Based on our experience, we would like to share the following pointers with everyone:
- Don’t print too many at the start as you’ll definitely change something about the design of the card, so think about the trees.
- There are some printing companies will make you think you need to purchase and print a minimum amount of cards e.g 1000. Don’t be fooled as there are some companies out there that actually allow you to print just 50 cards. Obviously if you work out the printing cost for each card, it will be much higher if you print 50 rather than 1000.
- Keep your design simple and don’t have too much colour. Have a maximum of 3 colours on your business card. Having too many colours on the card will make your card look too busy.
- Avoid bright colour – it may stand out but it will not look professional at all
- There are different types of finishes. This refers to the type of material the card is printed on. In summary we would recommend to go for a matt cello finish as it looks more professional.
- Make sure your company logo doesn’t overcrowd the card
- Now, we’ve debated this point several times so if you’ve just started your business do you have a title for your position e.g Director, CEO, Manager? Do you have this printed on your business card? Initially we did have this printed on our very first card design. However, we’ve learnt our lesson and now we’ve actually removed the titles on our business cards. Our reasoning is simple – some people may feel intimidated if they see your business title and vice versa. So instead we decided to put something different on our title – “your digital partner”. It’s simple and direct.
- It will be cheaper if you don’t have to print on the back of the card. Don’t try to put something on the back unless you have something compelling or useful.
3D videos on Youtube
May 31st
I have a sneaking suspicion that Youtube will soon start showing 3D videos especially when 3D televisions are becoming more popular and affordable. What do you think?
