wordpress for blackberry cannot add custom blogs after 1.4.2
Sep 4th
Has anyone noticed that you can no longer add your own custom blog, it just has the wordpress.com or wordpress.org?
Seems to have happened after the upgrade to 1.4.2. Is this a bug or do they just want to lock it down to those two sites?
I feel so frustrated!!!
Integrating Facebook with our blogs
Aug 31st
I decided to start doing a bit more social with our blogs and signed up for the facebook api integration. In our blog posts you’ll notice the I Like Facebook buttons and the ability to login using your facebook account. One of the additional features we’ve included is the ability to comment using your facebook account.
There were two plugins we used: WP-FacebookConnect and Facebook Like. The idea of using these plugins and integrating our blogs to facebook is to generate more traffic and make it easier for our readers to comment on blog posts. We hope you like these features.
Digital Signage Blog – number of posts on homepage
May 14th
Many of us use a blog to advertise our business to the online community and for this month I decided to make a few tweaks on our digital signage blog to determine whether the number of blog post on the homepage affects pagerank, search ranking etc. I will track the progress and update you all on how this impacts the webiste ranking and so forth
2/05/2010 – decreased the number of posts on the homepage to 5 – to improve load times and also for SEO purposes. Lets see if this makes a difference.
14/7/2010 – it’s been over two months and we noticed that changing the number of posts to 5 has had an effect on our website. We’ll change this back to 30 and see what it does.
I found a piece of rock in my Pizza
Apr 18th
You’re probably thinking to yourself whether this is a prank or not but let me tell you that I did find a piece of rock in my pizza – I have pictures to prove this. YES A PIECE OF ROCK! Now, I don’t want to name the actual company but I’m quite disappointed of the outcome of this situation and because of this I decided to blog about it.
Several weeks ago our company ordered several pizzas from a local pizza restaurant chain. At the last few slices of the final pizza, I bit into something really hard. Upon inspection this is what I found:
Can you see it? It’s a small piece of rock! Yes, how did this piece of rock get into the pizza… that’s the question I wanted answered. My biggest concern was that if a kid was eating this then they might have choked. I was calm and collected and decided to call the pizza store to speak to the store manager. I managed to speak to the store manager and the conversation went something like this:
I said: “I think I found a piece of rock in my pizza”.
Store manager said: “Are you sure it a piece of rock?”
I said: “Yes I know how a piece of rock looks like and I want to find out how it got into the pizza.”
Store manager said: “I don’t believe its a piece of rock but it could be a hard sun dried tomato.”
I said: “I don’t think it’s a sun dried tomato… I know how that looks like and it’s definitely not a sun dried tomato.”
Store manager said: “I’m sorry but we don’t believe its a rock. You can bring this in and we can exchange it or refund it for you.”
I said: “I don’t want an exchange or refund, I just want to know how this piece of rock got into my pizza.”
Store manager said: “It’s not a rock…” and the conversation kept going into a loop.
At this point I felt so offended and frustrated that the store manager kept questioning me about the rock. We decided not to bring back the pizza but to report it to the head office. Someone in the head office did contact us back and was advised that someone would pick up the pizza so that they can investigate this further. Till this day, no one has picked up the pizza and we had to throw it away because it was getting moldy, overall I was quite disappointed with the outcome and hope I don’t experience this again.

Updating your Social Networking status updates
Jan 11th
For those of you who are using a twitter or facebook account, do you have to manually and update your status information? Do you find it tedious and time consuming to think of something to update?
What we’ve done in advertise me is to automatically link new articles and posts from our blog and forum to our twitter account using twitterfeed.com Basically, if you have a blog with an RSS or Atom feed, you will be able to feed this information to your twitter account. Otherwise you can use an application called TwitterDeck which allows you to simultaneously update your Twitter, Facebook and Myspace statuses.
Obviously, the objective is to advertise and market your business and at the same time drive more traffic to your websites.
Official Advertise Me blog
Jan 9th
advertise me has been in business for over 4 years now and we just realised we didn’t have an official Advertise Me blog. So after several years, here it is.
To be fair, we actually do have another blog for the digital signage industry (digitalsignageblog.com) but advertise me does just more than digital signage. We actually provide other services such as website development, IT consulting, website design and … Well, if you follow our blog you’ll learn exactly what we do.
