A year ago we developed a WordPress plugin that converts short/tiny url’s (e.g. http://tinyurl.com) into full URLs, it can also be integrated with websnapr.com to capture and display a webpage snapshot of the first URL in the post. Websnapr lets you capture screenshots of a web page and allows your visitors to instantly preview the web page before clicking on the link to hopefully increase site traffic, click-through rate and site stickiness.
The main reason why we wanted to have this developed was for SEO purposes and mainly to avoid hiding URLs (tiny URL’s have it’s purpose but they never look nice!).
Here’s some information about the plugin and setup/installation instructions
If you’re looking to integrate websnapr then you’ll meed get a developer key from websnapr, it’s simple just visit websnapr.com
